Nothing like family!

Hello family and friends!

I can’t believe I go back to Canada the day after tomorrow!

Here is a prayer update:

  • Praise that my truck is being fixed on time- it should be done tonight. Praise also that the engine didn’t overheat and destroy itself while on the road- this could have very easily happened.
  • Please pray that I would be able to tie up all the loose ends in my last hours in the US!
  • Praise and prayer: Most of my funding has come in! Already tuition is fully funded. I am trusting God to provide the last $1,650  (Click here for current info.)

Praise:

Why is nothing like family?

Spiritual warfare ramps up before major transitions and events, as Satan seeks to derail God’s children who are earnestly seeking Him in obedience and Kingdom work. It’s as sure as the seasons. These past few weeks have been no exception, though I must say that I had not remembered to be on the lookout for it.

The short of it is that while God was showing me a couple of areas to grow in humility and respect for others, Satan the Accuser took the idea and blew it out of proportion, causing me to believe that I was being extremely hurtful and offensive to everyone. Talk about distressing! My parents and my church family have been extremely affirming, supportive, and loving to me through this time. Indeed my church update on Sunday was probably the most tearful, holy-spirit-filled time of encouragement I have ever had there. Thank you Mountain Creek Christian Fellowship! I now see that my perception of others during this time was one of assuming that they interpret all through a lense of criticism and are easily offended. Thank God that most people aren’t actually like that!

I regret that I did not post prayer updates during this time. I believe that that was influenced by the nature of the attack as well. I am so grateful for those who were praying for me on their prayer dates- even though they didn’t know it, they were helping me through! Going forward, I can use this experience to be better equipped to fight future attacks, and call upon the support of my prayer team.

I have been feeling much better and much more balanced since Sunday. Some of the Scripture verses that helped me through this trial are:

  • Psalm 16:7-9
  • Psalm 42 & 43
  • Philippians 1:4-5
  • 2 Timothy 1:7

Thank you Lord for giving me your word!

Thank you family and church family for your love, support, and direction!

Prayer:

Please pray for the minority language communities that don’t have Scripture to help them face spiritual attacks. Please pray that the communities would ever grow in their desire for the Word, and that God would be raising up native speakers in these communities to take on the task of translation.

If you have any questions about any of these matters, or simply want to know how i’m doing, please don’t hesitate to write!

Thanks again, and God bless,

Alex
