Hello!

This morning the CanIL scholarship fund-raising 37K and 100K bicycle rides were a huge success, bringing in tens of thousands of dollars of scholarship funds for students going into Bible translation, and spreading word of the need for Bible translation!

If you saw my previous post, you know that sadly I could not participate in the 100K as hoped, due to an ankle injury shortly before the event. However, I still consider my involvement to be a positive experience, because I had the privilege of facilitating the fundraising of more funds for scholarships and spreading the word about Bible translation. I also received a free much-needed tune-up for my commuter bicycle.

And perhaps one could creatively argue that I did in fact ride 100K, since the two practice pre-rides I went on totaled to over 100K!

Most importantly, I would like to thank everyone who partnered with me in the event by giving funds, praying for the event, or both! I am grateful to have you as part of the CanIL team.

Also, it’s not too late to “join the team!” Donations towards my $500 goal are still being accepted on CanIL’s webpage. I’m only $100 CAD short of goal!

I do have a prayer request regarding the event:

A local Christian motorcycle organization helped guide the bikers during the event and set up directional signs the day before (yesterday). While they were putting up the signs yesterday, due to bad weather and other factors, one of the motorcyclists was involved in a small collision and sustained some rib injuries. Please pray that he would be able to make a quick recovery and that God would redeem the situation to further His kingdom in a powerful way.

Thanks again!

God bless,

Alex
